Each morning our lake is visited by several species of water
fowl. We enjoy watching the Great White Egret and the Great Blue Heron and wish
we had the patience that they do to wait for fish. We haven’t seen either of
them fish a golf ball out of the lake yet, but we have seen quite a few balls
land in the water.
We made a quick shopping trip and I can’t understand why
firewood is being sold here. Where are people burning it? It makes no sense to
me when the temperature hasn’t gone below 63° since we have been here.
We spent some of our time at Cocohatchee Creek Preserve
which is a 3.64 acre nature preserve along the Cocohatchee Creek. It was chosen for preservation because it
contains several types of native habitat and a number of protected plant and
wildlife species. We were advised to use caution near the creek as the resident
gator lives there.
It looks like Cordell kicked the wrong place and the
alligator took his leg!
Of course, the parks here are open all through the year
and there are so many of them that it is easy for the residents to make use of
them.
We went to the Olive Garden for dinner tonight and I tried
one of their new dishes. Both of us enjoyed our dinner and especially so
because we were seated immediately, our food was served very quickly and we
were back at our condo within 1½ hours—in time to take our naps before going
to bed!
