Br-r-r—we had a chilly day in Bonita Springs today—high temp
was only 70°. Already we are spoiled by the 80+ temps we have experienced since
our arrival! I am wondering if our Maryland friends who arrived in Orlando
brought cold air with them. If so, we may just have to send them back north!
A family of white ibises visited the lake outside our condo
and the temperature change didn’t seem to affect them.
We drove over to a nearby shopping plaza for lunch and a
movie. We ate at Johnny Rockets whose
theme is the diner-style restaurant that had become a common sight by the
1950s. We both felt like we had stepped back into our teenage years before we
had McDonald’s and other fast food hamburger places. Even the music playing on
the jukebox was the old rock and roll songs that we had sung along with and
danced to in those “good old days”.
Johnny Rockets gave us discount coupons for the theater next
door. We saw the film, Lincoln, and enjoyed it very much as did the rest of the
old people who viewed it with us.
We stopped in the grocery store to get a few things before
our guests arrive tomorrow. We have decided that late Friday afternoon is not a
good time to shop here. From all the people in the Publix one would have
thought they were stocking up for a snow storm!
On our way back to the condo, we did stop for one geocache
which was sort of on our way. It was located near what was described as a
family cemetery. I found it interesting that there were lawn chairs placed
around the grave sites.

That IS weird! Guess they like to keep their loved ones involved in family parties! :)
