We rose early this morning and went to the 8:30 a.m. service
at Trinity Lutheran Church in Savannah.
The sanctuary has a beautiful stained glass window which is
explained in detail on their website. www.trinitysavannah.org/window.cfm
We found this to be a very friendly and welcoming
congregation. We especially liked that the parking lot spaces reserved for
visitors also had “welcome” painted on the asphalt.
After church, we returned to our room, changed our clothes and continued our drive south. We crossed the state line into Florida just before noon.
There were three lanes of traffic on I-95 and almost all of the vehicles were diving 70+ mph. I guess they all were as anxious as we were to reach the warm weather!
We spend the night at Apopka which is north of Orlando. We had dinner at Sampi’s Italian Eatery. I had a pasta dish of lasagna, manicotti and fettucini. Everything including the house salad dressing and the hot rolls were the best I have had outside of Italy. For a while I thought I was back in Italy.
Several years ago, our dear Italian friend, Terzo Maffei,
taught us how to wind pasta on our forks without using a spoon. He would have
been proud of my accomplishment tonight!
We intend to watch the Redskin game tonight and hope we
aren’t disappointed.
