This is the first day of our Florida Adventure II. When we left home at 8:00 a.m., it was 34° and we were thinking about how warm it is going to be when we arrive in Bonita Springs. We hear that snow/rain/ice is likely in our area tomorrow and feel like we got out of Dodge in the nick of time!

We made a few stops during the drive so that I would not have to sit for long periods of time. After 100 miles, we stopped in Hanover Courthouse, VA and found a geocache in Hanover Park.

Cordell was dreaming of playing golf but it looks like he will have to wait until we get farther south.

We stopped again at the North Carolina Visitors Center and found two more caches there. I have never noticed that many parts of this highway are a tribute to the Armed Forces who have defended our country.

We arrived at our hotel in Wilson, NC around 2:15 p.m. and were able to check into our room. There are a lot of caches close by but we didn’t take the time to look for them.

We ate at Golden Corral and I didn’t realize it was all buffet. Never have I seen so many choices of food on a buffet! I especially liked the boiled cabbage, pinto beans and meatloaf. Both of us started with salads and I also had a variety of fruit before taking a small portion of bread pudding. I commented that if I had any stomach problems, it would most likely be impossible to narrow it down to which food caused it. I would like to see the person who parked this bike carry his to go order away

We settled back in our room and enjoyed watching Virginia Tech play their bowl game which was in Orlando and we were anxious to arrive in Bonita Springs where the weather is nice and warm.
