It was a rainy morning here
today. Even the egrets and herons had their heads tucked in while they were “fishing”.
This area needs rain so I could
not complain about the wet weather that lasted until shortly after noon. The
flowers are a welcome site on this last day of January.
As people began preparations for
their Super Bowl celebrations, I decided to wear my new Baltimore Ravens
t-shirt with hopes that it would bring good luck to the team on Sunday.
We spent most of the day at the
condo, washing clothes, catching up on our e-mail and writing on our blog.
Among the three of us we have 3 regular cameras and 3 smart phones with
cameras. We are sharing photos with each other so it takes a LONG time to
download and sort all our pictures!
The Hausers invited us to have
dinner with them tonight at their condo on Fort Myers Beach. We arrived in
time for Cordell, Jim and Melli to take a walk on the beach before sunset.
They have a beach front condo
and the view is spectacular. This is the widest beach I have ever seen.
All of us appreciated the beautiful
sunset and marveled at God’s handiwork.
Barb has a gift for setting a
pretty table. She used seashells and picture
postcards for decorating it.
Cordell liked their choice of
wine.
Jim is a specialist at grilling
steaks and we all declared that we preferred his steaks to eating out at any
restaurant.
After dinner, Jim pulled out
his guitar and we spent about two hours singing praise songs. The presence of our
Lord was very real. There is something truly intimate and special about worshipping in a small group.
Too soon we called an end to
this very nice evening and said goodbye to Jim and Barb who we will not see
again until all of us have returned to Maryland.
