43° in Bonita Springs this morning!!! For a while I
thought I must have awakened in Colorado. It looked like the egrets beside our lakeside were
shivering.
This is the coldest morning we have had since we have
been here. The temps are forecasted to be back in the 80’s by Tuesday.
Today, we went to the traditional worship service at Hope
Lutheran Church. This is the most popular service with over 430 people
attending it. The majority of the congregation seems to be comprised of senior
citizens. When I signed the Friendship Register, I noticed that every person in
our row was a visitor. This church also has Sunday services at 7:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in addition to a 12:30 p.m. Spanish service as well as a 5:30 p.m. Saturday
service. They will also be having services on Wednesday evenings during Lent.
With a lot of other activities going on, I imagine the doors are always open at
this church. This was the first Sunday since we have been coming here that
coffee was served inside and not out on the lawn. Well, after all it is the
winter season I am told!
We returned to our condo and just really “cooled” it for
the rest of the afternoon and evening.
